Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant – pick your favourite personal assistant. AI assistants have evolved over the last few years. We're now using them to select the music we listen to, check tomorrow's weather and set our morning alarm.
But, far more than just a simple assistant and a bit of a novelty, in the future these voice activation services will be at the heart of our homes. Hot water not working? Ask Alexa to identify the problem and provide a solution. Tell Siri to book a tradie and sync the time in your calendar.
And, in a world where everything we do both online and in the real world is connected, Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant will continually learn about our likes, needs and desires and then offer intelligent recommendations and results. They'll be our virtual concierge.
