After almost two years of preparation, we’re ready and excited to implement the landmark training reforms in the coming weeks. We’ve redesigned our courses to ensure REINSW Training is the most professional, up to date and flexible offering available for all agents.
Moving forward, a key requirement will be that all agents hold a Real Estate Licence. While you certainly have some time to comply, I strongly advise that you don’t leave it to the last moment. If you’re an experienced agent, you can start the process of upgrading now by enrolling in the REINSW Recognition of Prior Learning Program.
With training reforms kicking off on 23 March 2020, it’s time to look at your qualifications and role, and work out what further training you need to undertake to be compliant with the new framework.
If you currently hold a Certificate of Registration and have more than 12 months’ experience, you’ll need to upgrade to a Real Estate Licence by completing a Certificate IV qualification.
If you’ve held a Real Estate Licence for three years and want to step up to the position of Licensee-in-charge, you’ll need to complete a Diploma qualification before you can carry out the duties required by this role.
In both instances, you’ll need to undertake further training – but why spend time re-learning things you already know?
This is where REINSW’s Recognition of Prior Learning Program can help.
By documenting your skills and knowledge and providing evidence of the experience you’ve gained throughout your career, you can potentially reduce the amount of training you need to do to achieve these qualifications.
With the start date for the training reforms imminent, there’s never been a better time to enrol in the REINSW Recognition of Prior Learning program.
RPL: In-house training testimonial
Twenty-one agents at Integrity Real Estate in Nowra have recently undertaken the REINSW Recognition of Prior Learning Program to upgrade to their Real Estate Licence. Office Manager Lisa Mullins tells us what the RPL process has been like.
Why did you choose REINSW as your training provider?
With the training reforms on the horizon, we’ve had a lot of different training providers calling us about licensing courses. But REINSW was easily the standout.
As an agency, we know the standard of REINSW training is exceptional. Whenever we have someone new start with us, we always recommend they do their Certificate of Registration with REINSW. We also take advantage of the other training opportunities REINSW offers, like CPD and webinars.
So when it came to RPL for our agents to transition to their Real Estate Licence, REINSW was always going to be our first choice for professionalism, quality course content and in-depth knowledge.
What motivated your agents to undertake Recognition of Prior Learning?
As an agency, we have a keen focus on training and encourage our team to engage in continual upskilling. In recent times, several team members had expressed interest in obtaining their Real Estate Licence, so we started looking into training options.
Then, when the start date for the training reforms was announced, lots of other team members decided to embrace the RPL opportunity in order to obtain their Real Estate Licence sooner rather than later.
What has your training experience with REINSW been like?
The entire RPL process has been easy. The team at REINSW have been on hand to guide our agents through the process, answer questions and solve any issues that have popped up. Help has just been a phone call or email away.
Would you recommend the REINSW Recognition of Prior Learning program?
Absolutely! The team at REINSW have been incredibly professional and the process is so streamlined.
Yes, there’s a good deal of work to do in completing the self-assessment and collecting evidence, but REINSW has been with us every step of the way. Our agents have commented over and over how simple the process has been. I honestly can’t fault the RPL program and would highly recommend.
