Why is there a ballot and who gets to vote?

If more than the required number of nominations are received for a position, an electronic ballot is conducted of all Voting Members located within the relevant region and/or area of practice. Therefore, only Voting Members are eligible to vote.

A Voting Member is a Life Fellow or an Ordinary Member who is Licensed.

How do nominations work?

All Voting Members of REINSW are eligible to stand for election for a position representing the region in which they practice or the area of real estate practice in which they are principally engaged, as evidenced by their membership of the relevant Chapter. However, a Voting Member is not eligible to stand for election if they have served their maximum term as a Director or owe REINSW membership fees.

To become a candidate, a nomination must be submitted in writing, proposed and seconded by two Voting Members and must bear the signed consent of the nominee.

When is the composition of the board announced?

At the REINSW Annual General Meeting, held on Thursday the 21st of November 2019 at the Intercontinental Sydney, 117 Macquarie St, Sydney.

All members are welcome. If you’d like to attend, click here to RSVP.
