Harcourts Real Estate is calling on NSW agents to walk a mile in high heels on 1 September to help raise money for White Ribbon Australia and take a stand against violence.

This is the third year Harcourts has organised the “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” event across all Australian states through their charitable foundation The Harcourts Foundation.  

This year the walk takes place on 1 September from 11am in Campbelltown at the corner of Queen and Cordeaux Streets and all participants are encouraged to wear heels. To participate or support this event, please visit here.

In 2015 and 2016 over 800 Harcourts staff, family, friends and supporters across Australia “walked a mile” in women’s heels to show solidarity and bring attention to violence against women. Last year the event helped to raise $118,000.

All of the funds raised are donated to White Ribbon’s “Breaking the Silence” programme in primary and secondary schools across Australia, aimed at creating generational change in attitudes toward violence.

Over 12 months, on average, one woman is killed every week in Australia because of partner violence.
