UPDATE: Residential Tenancies Amendment (Review) Bill 2018
21 September 2018
The Residential Tenancies Amendment (Review) Bill 2018 is now in Parliament and public debate has finally commenced.
For over three years, REINSW, the REINSW Property Management Chapter Committee and dedicated RTA Sub-Committee have worked tirelessly to achieve fair and equitable outcomes for all stakeholders.
Despite our contribution, NSW Fair Trading did not notify us of this progress.
While many of REINSW’s lobbying efforts have been adopted in whole or part by the Government, many have been ignored such as the Government’s proposed changes to:
Break fees
Alterations to property
Rent increases and more.
Next steps
The Bill is currently under further review by REINSW. We will be advising the Industry what impact the Bill will have and how to accommodate the changes. Keep up-to-date
