REINSW has recognised outstanding industry achievement, crowning the winners of its 2022 REINSW Awards for Excellence.
This year we acknowledge and celebrate 25 years of the REINSW Awards for Excellence and the fact that it continues to be the most prestigious and respected industry awards event in New South Wales, recognising the best of the best within the real estate industry.
REINSW President Peter Matthews says this year the Awards for Excellence celebrates those who’ve really gone that extra mile despite such trying times.
“Yet again we were impressed by the number of entrants into the Awards for Excellence despite a year of unprecedented challenges,” says Mr Matthews.
“What a year it has been! Agents were having to rise up to the challenge of more COVID lockdowns, the devasting floods as well as the very strong market throughout 2021 and into 2022 before economic measures saw the beginning of a slowdown in the market.
“Last night REINSW was proud to be able to honour our finalists and winners by coming together to celebrate at the first in-person Gala Dinner event since 2019! We were excited that 650 members and distinguished guests joined in a hugely fun and entertaining evening.
"With so many deserving nominees, choosing the top professional and agency for each category, was extremely tough.
"Those who received a winner’s trophy should be incredibly proud of their achievement,” says MrMatthews.
This year we handed out 9 agency and 14 individual category awards. Amanda Gould from Highspec Properties took out the Buyers’ Agent of the year award.
Dominic Ong from Knight Frank won Commercial Salesperson of the year. The Tim Anderson OAM Residential Property Manager award (in honour of a much-loved member of REINSW) went to Carly Pukallus from Green St Property.
The Auctioneer of the year award was given to Clarence White at Menck White Auctioneers and the Residential Salesperson award went to David Highland at Highland Property Agents. The most prestigious award of the night, the Woodrow Weight Award, which recognises outstanding contribution to real estate agency practice was presented to Cathy Baker from Belle Property Killcare.
“We are thrilled to recognise the valuable contributions Cathy has made to the real estate industry. A true trailblazer in the field, Cathy is someone who has not only achieved remarkable milestones throughout her own personal career, but who has also been an incredible role model for others in the industry and their local community. Despite starting out only a decade ago she has most definitely made up for lost time at extraordinary speed by kicking incredible goals within a few short years.
“As an inspiring agent, principal and all-round “over-achiever”, Cathy is one of the most valued and respected members of our profession today and a well-deserved recipient of this award,” says Mr Matthews.
The REINSW Awards for Excellence Gala Evening was held at the Star Entertainment Centre, Sydney on Thursday, 8 September 2022. For photos, videos and more Awards for Excellence news visit reinswawards.com.au or our Facebook and Instagram pages.
