Women in Real Estate

2007 Women in Real Estate Conference

Sponsored by Trading Reference Australia, the inaugural Women in Real Estate Conference covered topics ranging from the personal to the practical. REINSW President Cristine Castle, who spoke abouther successful career and what it took to get to the top, urged those present to think about getting involved with the Institute at Board and Chapter level. As Cristine pointed out, this would make the top strata, where decisions that affect the lives of working agents are made, more truly representative of the 50-50 gender split in the industry.

Dorothy Rosewell, the first female to make it to Board level, inspired with her journey from artist to real estate agent, reiterating Cristine’s message – get involved and keep learning – while Ro Corneos observed that women should not be afraid of failure, because that is how to learn.

Other presentations included an engaging speech from Julie Ryan on dealing with Gen Y – what they want from their job and how, with their short attention spans, they won’t linger on your website unless it has speed and functionality. Kristina Mill’s presented tips on how businesses can make the words in their marketing literature – printed and online – truly work for them financially.

Auctioneer Kate Lumby revealed her secrets on how it is possible to build  unbreakable relationships that positively influence business.
