Now in its 16th year, the Women in Real Estate conference (or WIRE) is one of the real estate industry's key events for professional development. 

The Hon Julie Bishop is the Chancellor of Australian National University.

Ms Bishop served as Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 until 2018 and was Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party from 2007 to 2018. She has also served as Minister for Education, Science and training, Minister for Women’s Issues and Minister for Ageing.

Prior to entering politics, Ms Bishop was Managing Partner of the national law firm Clayton Utz in Perth. In 2020 Julie was awarded a Fisher Family Fellowship at Harvard University and in 2021 she was awarded the Kissinger Fellowship at the McCain Institute. In 2022 Ms Bishop was awarded the Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop AsiaLink Medal.
 
Julie is Chair of Telethon Kids Institute, Chair of Prince’s Trust Australia, member of the international advisory boards of Afiniti, Human Immunome Project and the Global Board of Advisors of the Council on Foreign Relations. She is also the Patron of Shooting Stars (an education programme for young aboriginal girls) and an ambassador for Football Australia’s Legacy ’23 in the lead up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

She has also established a boutique consultancy, Julie Bishop and Partners, offering strategic advisory services. 

Jana has experienced it all - triumph, defeat, failure and success. She's a two-time World Champion and four-time Commonwealth Champion in athletics, and when injuries hampered her athletic career, she swapped the track for the ice and became the first woman to represent Australia in both a Summer and Winter Olympic games. Off the track, she has completed a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Western Sydney and is a practising Doctor specialising in Women's Health. In 2021 she joined the cast of Channel 7's popular reality program SAS Australia making it to the final five.

Passion, knowledge, and credibility guide Amanda Gould as a buyer's agent. Raised on Sydney's Northern Beaches, Amanda purchased her first Sydney property in 1988. Developing her property portfolio gave Amanda valuable insight into sourcing and challenges when managing property negotiations. She has worked on high-profile luxury residential developments such as the 'Pacific Bondi Beach' which received national awards by both Urban Taskforce Australia and the Property Council of Australia. Since starting at Laing+Simmons Young Property on the Northern Beaches in 2020, Amy has developed a community initiative known as ‘The Studio’ which is a hybrid office and community space that supports local charities. Amy was awarded the “John Greig OAM, Community Service Award” at the 2022 REINSW Awards for Excellence.

Virginia is one of Sydney’s most recognised and longest-standing real estate and property recruiters. Establishing Resolver Recruitment more than 15 years ago, Virginia has been successful at running her businesses and teams for many years. 2022 saw the most challenging year of Virginia’s life with a breast cancer diagnosis that came out of the blue for her and was a total shock. The diagnosis pre-empted her into packing up her family and travelling around Australia in her caravan and running her businesses remotely. This is a story you want to hear. 

Leanne has more than three decades’ experience in the real estate industry, encompassing residential, retail and commercial. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Laing+ Simmons and a regular industry commentator and speaker. Addressing the gender imbalance, empowering women agents and pushing towards industry-wide professionalism are among her key passions.
