What is a traineeship?

A traineeship allows an individual to gain practical experience in the workplace and complete a formal training program while obtaining a wage.

A traineeship differs from an apprenticeship. Whereas an apprenticeship focuses on trade-based vocational training and runs over a three to four year period, a traineeship focuses on business-based vocational training and runs over a one to two year period.
