Guide to green star communities takes shape

According to the GBCA, local governments which sit at the junction of law, policy, economic development, land use decisions, and the public interest, have a unique opportunity to address sustainability.
“While many local governments have actively pursued a sustainability agenda for years, others are new to the field,” the GBCA said.
All local governments face the challenge of sifting through the research, rating systems and technologies for the best approaches to help them achieve their sustainability goals.
“The Government Guide to Green Star Communities will include step-by-step strategies with case studies to help local governments take their projects from brown to green.”
