2005 Awards for Excellence
Highlight your sucess!

The State's top real estate performers for 2005 were honoured at the annual Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW) Awards for Excellence in Sydney on Friday 21 October. It was a stunning night with WS FM Breakfast Show host Amanda Keller announcing the awards for the 19 different categories.

REINSW President, Rowen Kelly, said the awards recognise members of the real estate industry judged to have set the benchmark for professional standards in their specialist fields over the last 12 months. He said the winners are agents who have achieved excellence in professionalism and have exhibited a commitment to fostering and developing high standards of industry practice.

The Platinum Sponsor of the awards was The Sydney Morning Herald, who also most appropriately presented the Award for Excellence in Copywriting.

This year three new awards were added - Award for Excellence in Commercial Agency, Award for Excellence in Residential Agency, and Award for Excellence in Innovation (sponsored by Macquarie Bank). The introduction of these new awards is part of a wider program which will see REINSW competing at the inaugural REIA National Awards to be held in March 2006.

Mr Kelly said the decision this year to introduce an award for commercial agencies recognises the important contribution of this sector to the industry's fortunes.

Mr Kelly said with the State's property sector currently going through a period of reduced activity, it's timely for all real estate practitioners to reflect on the important contribution of continuing professional development to their on-going success.

'The recognition of elite performance at Friday night's awards should highlight to all practitioners throughout the State that continuous professional development and the pursuit of excellence is at the heart of a commercially healthy and dynamic property sector,” said Mr Kelly.

'All finalists and winners have made a sustained effort over the past year, and for that the Institute and the property industry thanks them.”

REINSW would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support: Platinum Sponsor - The Sydney Morning Herald, Major Sponsors - Macquarie Bank and REI Insurance Brokers, Design Sponsor - Spoonfull Design, and Print Sponsor - Beaver Press.

Award winners and finalists should receive a mailed promotional pack with winners receiving a complimentary photo of them receiving their award.
