Excellence the standard at REINSW Awards Gala Dinner
28 September 2018
It is the New South Wales real estate industry’s night of nights and the 21st Annual REINSW Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner didn’t disappoint.

Held at Sydney Town Hall, 600 guests walked the red carpet into the impeccably styled Centennial Hall and Vestibule and greeted with champagne and canapes.

Once seated MC, Jean Kittson, reminded them of why they were all there – to celebrate the best and brightest in the real estate industry.

Throughout the night there were tears and cheers, commiserations for missing out and celebrations for winning. There was an incredible display of camaraderie and great respect shown for an industry that contributes so much to NSW.

Only one can win

This years’ awards featured over 100 finalists nominated across ten agency and 12 individual categories. However, despite the outstanding achievements of all the finalists, there could only be one winner in each category.

Among the big winners were propertybuyer who took out both the Buyers’ Agent for Rich Harvey and Buyers’ Agency categories.

Colliers International was also successful, winning two individual and one agency award. The same can be said for Mortons and Highland Property Agents both taking home two awards each.

The best parts

We’ll be honest, the whole evening was amazing, but there were a few standout moments.

Like when Nicholls & Co Director and Principal, Cameron Nicholls, captivated the room with his gracious acceptance speech for the Communication award.

Or when Alexandra Haggarty of First National David Haggarty was awarded the John Greig OAM Community Service award for her work helping victims of domestic violence in Maitland and the Lower Hunter region.

But the best moment was the standing ovation John Cunningham received when accepting the Woodrow Weight award for outstanding service to REINSW and the property services industry.

“John, who started his real estate career in property management in 1977, has been a big supporter of REINSW since the 1980s and is passionate about the property industry,” says REINSW President, Leanne Pilkington.

Yes, there were gold sparklers

With the formalities concluded, the winners were asked back on stage for a group photo was gold streamers fell from the ceiling.

But that wasn’t the only surprise.

Three gold sparklers ignited on stage to indicate the fun was about to begin.

With the music up and the dance floor packed, guests took the opportunity to snap, share, post and chat about the event and their successes.

REINSW would like to sincerely thank all the sponsors of last night's Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner. Without your support, this incredible industry event would not happen.
