REINSW fighting hard on RTA Review

19 April 2018

REINSW’s Property Management Chapter Committee’s Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) sub-committee has held 30 meetings and lodged seven submissions in response to the proposed amends to the RTA. View a timeline of our work on the RTA review here.

REINSW CEO Tim McKibbin commented that we cannot share our submissions even when the RTA Bill is made public, because the government placed a Cabinet-in-Confidence condition on our involvement in the process.

However, rest assured REINSW has been fighting hard on the review of the RTA to ensure a fair and equitable outcome for agents, owners and tenants.

What’s next?

The date the RTA Bill will go to Cabinet has been impacted by further consultation, but it’s expected to be heard in 2018. We will keep you informed of any updates.
