  • Capturing fees – using your agreement to recover maximum fees (e.g. tips for tailoring Schedule 3 to protect against fee leakage)
  • Feedback from Fair Trading on key terms in the REI NSW Agency Agreement which relate to the new Strata Law.

Meet the presenters

Leisha de Aboitiz

Leisha de Aboitiz has more than 16 years’ of legal experience and specialises in commercial property law. Leisha has a strong background and particular specialisation in complex titling, including strata renewal and collective sales, strata and stratum subdivision, long-term leasehold arrangements and strata management and compliance. She is also experienced in various other aspects of property law, including sales and acquisitions, commercial leasing, property development, Crown land and community land, and distressed property sales.

Leisha has experience acting for clients from various sectors, including property and investment funds, property developers, large corporates, government departments, receivers and liquidators, owners corporations, not-for-profits and banks.

Leisha is a Strata Chapter Committee member for the Real Estate Institute of NSW and is regularly invited to present on strata and property-related legal topics. 


Gary Adamson


Gary Adamson has been involved on a full-time basis with the administration of strata title, community title and company title properties throughout New South Wales since 1977.

Gary currently owns and operates Strata Management Services NSW with offices in Cronulla and Bondi Junction and Century 21 Adamson’s The Property people at Cronulla.

Gary has formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, with majors in accounting and financial management and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with secondary studies in psychology, commercial law, industrial relations and financial services.

Professional association memberships include the Institute of Chartered Accountants with many years in public practise involving taxation and business management consultancy prior to entering the strata industry, membership of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales, the and Association of Strata & Community Managers.

Industry positions held include vice chairman from 1999 to 2006 and chairman from 2006 of the strata management chapter of the REINSW and a current member of the Board of Directors.

Professional involvement includes having been periodically engaged as a consultant to NSW TAFE for the setting of the strata managers licensing course curriculum, appointment as the strata industries representative and founding member of the NSW Registrar Generals Strata Industry Working group.

Periodic engagement as a professionally recognised strata management expert in strata title Tribunal and civil Court proceedings and regular appointments by NCAT as a strata scheme administrator.
