Massive strata reforms came into force on 30 November 2016 and as part of these changes to Strata legislation a Statutory Review was scheduled for late 2020. Almost from the moment the new framework began, the REINSW Strata Management Chapter Committee commenced analysing the changes. The Committee kept a watchful eye on the impact of the reforms on day-to-day practice, continually assessing what’s working and what’s not. After years of work, REINSW and the Committee formally lodged a preliminary submission with Government on 8 October 2020. Post the release of the Government’s Discussion Paper, REINSW and the Strata Management Chapter Committee continue their quest for effective change benefitting all stakeholders in the strata world.
