Last night, the Federal Government announced significant new measures and restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19. These new measures will greatly affect Australia’s Property Industry and will come into force at midnight tonight, 25 March 2020.
The restrictions specifically relate to the ban placed on public attendance at auction houses, real estate auctions and open house inspections.
The Prime Minister’s announcement stressed the need to keep Australia’s economy going during this period of great uncertainty.
In order to assist you, our members, as quickly as possible so that you can continue to conduct your businesses, we are seeking further clarity on the content of these new restrictions.
An update will be issued as soon as we are in a position to provide further advice and guidance as to how businesses are allowed to operate within these new restrictions.
