What it means to be a member of REINSW

A lifelong passion for property led Kelly Petrini to embark on her real estate career as soon as she finished school.

An innate understanding of the industry and strong work ethic saw Kelly quickly gain the trust of her clients and led to her opening a boutique agency in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

A history with REINSW

To broaden her knowledge of the property services industry, Kelly took on a role at REINSW. It was during this time that she gained a better understanding of the work REINSW performs on behalf of its members.

“I started on a traineeship in what was then called the Training and Development department and then moved into Membership,” says Kelly.

“When I joined Cobden & Hayson, I became a member of REINSW. I have always respected their efforts in lobbying for the best interests of the real estate industry and for working to improve its reputation.

“I wanted to be part of an association of like-minded real estate professionals and, because REINSW offers individual membership for those employed by an agency member, joining as an individual is possible.”

The benefits of being a member

Kelly says there are many benefits to being a member of REINSW.

“I regularly engage REINSW trainers for in-house training. They are highly-qualified and are accredited for CPD purposes,” she says.

“But I would consider the most significant benefit to be access to critical industry information and knowledge. REINSW communicates regularly on issues affecting the industry, including legislative changes and updates.

“I also find REINSW Helpline valuable, regularly make use of the ‘Find a candidate’ board when looking to recruit and often register my team for REINSW’s member-only webinars.

As Chairperson of the REINSW Agency Services Chapter Committee, Kelly says she can connect with other professional agents in her field.

“I have received immeasurable value in being a member of the chapter committee,” she says. “We exchange practice knowledge and discuss topical matters relevant to my chosen field within the industry.”

Membership opens doors

Kelly believes all agents should become members of their peak industry body.

“REINSW is the largest and most influential association of property professionals in our state,” she says.

“REINSW represents the interests of its members. It provides a unified voice, lobbies for positive change within the industry and keeps members up-to-date with industry matters.

“Being a member of REINSW means you are part of a real estate community that values professionalism, ongoing training and professional development – these are what our industry needs to survive and what our clients deserve from our service.”
