The 2015 Women in Real Estate Conference proudly supported Look Good, Feel Better, a free community service program dedicated to helping Australians cope with appearance related side-effects from chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Madeleine Albright said, “There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women”.

This was the final message that the CEO of REA Group, Tracey Fellows, gave a record number of attendees at the 9th annual Woman in Real Estate Conference on Tuesday, 17 November 2015.

The event was held at the lavish Doltone House at Jones Bay Wharf. Attendees were greeted with the very popular, and highly anticipated, WIRE ‘goodie bags’, which proved to be a great hit! Lip-gloss, nail polish, tea-light candles and chai tea, to name a few, warmed the crowd as they prepared themselves for an inspirational day ahead!

The jam-packed day commenced with the MC and key note speaker, the very funny Mia Freedman.

Mia opened the conference by speaking of her past experiences – the good and bad and the ugly. The attendees were in stitches as she shared personal photos of her “glamorous” life!  She wrapped up her presentation with the wise words – "Instead of comparing ourselves to what doesn't exist, let's look at what we are doing right."

The audience then heard from the talented and award winning real estate professionals Tiana Mueller, Cherie Humel and Sandy Hodgkins. The panellists shared some insights gained from their experiences within the industry. Attendees were inspired by Sandy’s best advice for her younger self: "the minute you settle for less than what you deserve, you get even less than you've settled for".

Next it was time to talk personal branding with Jane Anderson. Jane engaged the audience by focusing on the key drivers of what makes a personal brand successful, and how best to leverage a client connection. She provided tools, reference guides, and most of all the following timeless advice – "People buy from people who they know, like and trust."

Tracey Fellows was next to take the stage. Tracey talked about the importance of diversity in organisations and how she was driving diversity with the REA Group.  She shared one of her favourite quotes from Madeleine Albright, the former US Secretary of State: “Great ideas come from diversity, people with diverse thinking,” she said..

Last, but certainly not least, was the television legend Kerri-Anne Kennerley. KAK, as she well known, shared hilarious interview stories and answered questions from the crowd. She also spoke sensitively about her experience with cancer, and her work as Patron of the Look Good Feel Better charity.

The 2015 REINSW Women in Real Estate Conference was a huge success. It attracted nearly 400 attendees and raised a total of $2,150 in funds for Look good feel better.

REINSW would like to thank our wonderful speakers Mia Freedman, Jane Anderson, Tracey Fellows, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and our panel of real estate professionals Tiana Mueller, Cherie Humel and Sandy Hodgkins for a fantastic day.

We’re looking forward to even bigger and better things for the 10th anniversary of the Women in Real Estate Conference in 2016!
