Industry stalwarts recognised at REINSW AGM

7 December 2017

Former REINSW President John Cunningham recognised three industry stalwarts at the Institute’s annual AGM.

Colin Rodgers, Kathryn Hall and Miles Felstead were acknowledged in Mr Cunningham’s final act of his Presidency.

The awards are given in recognition of outstanding contributions given to the industry and REINSW over a number of years.

John Hill Award – Colin Rodgers

The John Hill Award was awarded to Colin Rodgers to recognise his contributions as the Property Management Chapter Chair. The award is named after former President John Hill in recognition of his efforts and contribution to REINSW.

John Cunningham said: “Colin is always on hand to offer help and advice to his colleagues, and has contributed a lot of time to the work over the last two years. This includes presenting webinars, providing article content, and demonstrating a strong ability to chair and run effective meetings that are focused and outcome driven.

“Colin is a wonderful person with a heart of gold, and we could not have a worthier recipient of the prestigious John Hill Award.”

Service Award – Kathryn Hall

The Service Award was given to Kathryn Hall in appreciation of the substantial services she has given to the industry. Kathryn has served on REINSW’s Residential Sales Chapter Committee for over 14 years, including as chair twice.

John Cunningham said: “Kathryn has been an extraordinary contributor to REINSW and the industry over the years, supporting our work to achieve the best possible changes in legislation for members.

“With nearly 40 years’ experience in real estate, Kathryn has been able to mentor many other agents on their career journey.”

Life Fellow – Miles Felstead

The Life Fellow award was given to Miles Felstead in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Institute and the real estate industry.

Miles has been a member of REINSW since 1976, serving on the Property Management Committee from 1981 up until this term, and has also served on the Board from 2007 to 2015.  He is also the current REINSW representative on the Rental Bond Board.

John Cunningham said: “I have spoken to many of Miles’ colleagues and the one thing that shone through was how giving he is. They commented how nothing is too much trouble for him and how happy he is to help others. They also said how humble he is, knowledgeable about all things property management, and how deserving of this award he is.”
