Cooley Golf Classic raises $500,000

17 May 2017

The 10th and final Cooley Golf Classic helped Cooley Auctions reach its goal to raise over $500,000 for Youth Off The Streets.

A total of over $65,000 was raised at the last event which was attended by 145 people on Friday 12 May at Bonnie Doon Golf Club. Prior to this year’s event, the Cooley Golf Classic had raised $436,000 over the previous nine years.

The day began early with a game of four-player Ambrose followed by lunch and a charity auction. Over 20 items had been generously donated by several industry members and local businesses.

Sponsors included REINSW, Leverage Group, Advantage Property Styling, James Short, 1st Street and Ideal Property Group.

Cooley’s Director and REINSW Board Member Damien Cooley said “We’ve had some wonderful support over the last 10 years that has helped us raise a staggering $500,000 for Youth Off The Streets.

“It’s a bittersweet end to the Golf Classic, but we are really excited about focusing on the Real Estate Sleep Out.”

Father Chris Riley, CEO and Founder of Youth Off The Streets, said: “I am amazed everyday by the young people that come through our services.

“Despite the barriers that they have faced throughout their lives, their perseverance to overcome these is inspiring and they achieve astounding things along their journey towards reaching their full potential.

“It is thanks to the wonderful work of our supporters that we are able to provide our young people with opportunities to turn their lives around.

“I would like to thank Damien Cooley for hosting the event which has provided great support to Youth Off The Streets and the work we do.”
