Owners and renters can also input more information about their own energy usage to refine the score to help give a more detailed breakdown and analysis of their usage.
Energy Scores was created in partnership with Tendril, a global expert in data analytics and home energy modelling, and will also provide comparisons to other homes and scores.
Henry Ruiz, REA Group Chief Digital Officer, said: “We’re working towards providing a rich view of every property on realestate.com.au.
“Energy Scores may offer deeper insights into the energy efficiency of a property, helping Australians make more educated decisions on their next purchase or rental, or even improve the home they already live in.”
A survey of realestate.com.au users showed that 76% are concerned about the cost of electricity, and 79% are actively trying to conserve energy.
Energy Scores is available to signed-in users across realestate.com.au’s website. To watch a short video on Energy Scores please click here.
