Real estate plans for professionalism

The real estate industry has begun the process to gain professional recognition. This three-year project will result in a formal submission to the Professional Standards Authority.

If accepted, agents will be bound by a Professional Standards Scheme established for the specific purpose of prescribing, maintaining and enforcing the requirement of the Professional Standards Authority.

Associations that operate under a Professional Standards Scheme undertake a range of measures to improve professional standards and practices – from effective risk management strategies and continuing professional development programs, to codes of ethics, conduct and integrity systems.

This move reinforces our determination to put the consumer first, and to move agency practice to that of a professional trusted advisor.
