Work in the community

This year we are proud to announce that REINSW has joined forces with suicide prevention charity R U OK?

R U OK?’s mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support those who are struggling with life.

Why do we think this is a good fit with the industry?

In an industry where long hours are the norm and mental health issues are increasing, it’s time for our industry to put mental health and wellbeing at the top of our agenda by making sure we recognise the signs that a colleague might be in a rough place.

How is REINSW helping?

We are raising funds for R U OK? to help the charity develop more programs and resources to assist all Australians navigate life’s challenges. We’ve set ourselves a $50k goal. In addition, we will be sharing R U OK?’s resources with members to strengthen peer-to-peer support and encourage meaningful conversations within our industry.

Take part

  • Every year REINSW runs a great charity event known as the Novice Auctioneers Competition (NAC). The NAC sees some of NSW's would-be and up-and-coming auctioneers battling it out on stage. The competition gives entrants a chance to try their hand at auctioneering, without the pressure of having to sell a real property. Instead, entrants auction an item of their choice such as a spa package, weekend away or a bottle of wine with the proceeds going to R U OK? Learn more >>>

  • The REINSW Awards for Excellence gives recognition to the real estate industry's top performers. The most prestigious awards of their kind in NSW, finalists and winners set the benchmark for professional standards and service in their specialist fields. The awards also aim to encourage companies and individuals to strive for even grater success into the future. This year it kicks off at the Sydney Town Hall on 27 September 2018. Learn more >>>

  • Every year agents from across NSW gather in Sydney for a day of professional development and personal motivation at REINSW's Women in Real Estate (WIRE) Conference. About R U OK?

Twenty years ago, much-loved Barry Larkin was far from ok. His suicide left family and friends in deep grief and with endless questions. In 2009, Gavin Larkin chose to champion just one question to honour his father and to try and protect other families from the pain his endured.

While collaborating with Janina Nearn on a documentary to raise awareness, the team quickly realised the documentary alone wouldn’t be enough.

R U OK?'s vision is a world where we're all connected and are protected from suicide. R U OK?'s mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life.
