Rental vacancies start the year unchanged in Orana
The latest figures for January 2009 show a rental vacancy rate of 3.3% which is the same result as that recorded in December 2008.
“The Orana District now has the highest percentage of available rental accommodation of any rural area surveyed”, said REINSW President Steve Martin.
“In fact Orana is the only area to record a result in excess of 3% and has a level of rental availability which is almost double that of the Mid North Coast which is the lowest ranked area.
Orana leads the state followed by:
- Albury - 2.7%
- Riverina – 2.6%
- South Coast – 2.6%
“Orana has begun 2009 on a positive note and perhaps we are starting to see the beginning of the effects of a low interest rate environment.
“Hopefully we will continue to see even greater improvements in rental availability over the coming months,” said Mr Martin.
