Rental vacancies in South Eastern NSW significantly higher in October

Released 12 November 2009

Rental vacancies in South Eastern NSW have risen sharply according to the latest data released by REINSW today.

The percentage of available rental properties increased 4.5% in October to stand at 5.3%.

“This is a significant increase in available rental vacancies,” said REINSW President Steve Martin.

“Investment in rental properties has improved over the later part of this year with lower interest rates and good rental income enticing investors into the market.

“This is a very good result, particularly when compared to other regional centres where vacancy rates have either fallen or remain steady,” said Mr Martin.
