Real estate careers taking off in 2009

Released 12 January 2009

2009 is shaping up to be a great year for starting a career in the property sector according to the state's leading real estate organisation, REINSW.

As the property sector starts to recover with the help of low interest rates and first home buyer initiatives, the demand for qualified employees will only increase according to REINSW President Steve Martin

“Real estate is a fantastic career opportunity for school leavers and career changers alike, with demand for qualified employees likely to increase in 2009,” said Mr Martin.

“The sector has already undergone its adjustment to the new economic climate and is now on the brink of significant improvement as the impact of low interest rates, greater housing affordability and new home buyer initiatives are felt.

“As the property sector turns around, now is the perfect time to get moving and start training for a career in real estate.

To kick start a career or career change to real estate, REINSW is conducting introductory courses, starting this January and running throughout 2009.

The week-long courses held at REINSW will provide every participant with a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of real estate in a course which is held in high esteem by employers.

The course will help any beginner in real estate:
  • Develop the knowledge and skills you need to be confident, capable and successful in listing, selling, renting and managing property.
  • Understand the statutory requirements applicable to property professionals, including the consumer protection obligations specific to the property industry.
  • Learn about the industrial award under which property professionals are employed.
  • Be able to complete the statutory documentation required in agency practice.
“The real estate sector is no doubt heading for a busier 2009 and qualified employees will only be in greater demand as more buyers enter the market.

“Our website, www.reinsw.com.au, is the perfect place to start to find out about all the professional courses we run as well as the latest job vacancies.

“Get a head start today and enrol in the most respected real estate courses in New South Wales,” said Mr Martin.
