Real Estate Institute Awards for Excellence
In announcing this year’s finalists, REINSW President Cristine Castle said today that the Awards for Excellence are the industry’s most prestigious honour and the standard of this year’s finalists is exceptional.
“In almost every agency and franchise group there are awards that recognise individuals and offices as star performers but none are as important or as prestigious as the REINSW Awards for Excellence, which recognise the State’s top real estate professionals and give winners the opportunity to enter the National Awards for Excellence,” Mrs Castle said.
“The REINSW Awards for Excellence reward those who strive to uphold the highest professional standards in our industry, whether it is through outstanding customer service, innovative use of technology, sophisticated marketing campaigns or commitment to their local community.”
Mrs Castle said the judges looked for thinking ‘outside the square’ by members who had stamped their work with their own individual style and had translated effort into success.
“We looked to identify talent and practice skills, no matter where our members were in NSW,” she said.
The awards are broadly based on specialist Chapters within the Institute. The 21 categories are judged by Chapter Committee members and external judges where appropriate, with the assistance of REINSW Education & Training and other professional Institute staff.
This year the criteria were re-focussed to ensure that the awards truly honour those members who raise the bar in professional practice and set the standards for other agents to emulate.
“The judges carefully examined each submission and were given one overriding objective - to reward excellence, not mediocrity,” Mrs Castle said.
Winners of the awards will be announced at the Institute’s most prestigious event of the year, the Annual Dinner, which is a black tie gala event that will take place on Saturday, 21 October at the Hilton Sydney.
More than 600 people will attend the event and the Master of Ceremonies this year will be comedian, performer and writer Tim Ferguson.
While this year’s awards are now closed, Mrs Castle said all agents who want to be recognised for their exceptional work should consider entering next year.
“While most awards are for individuals, there are also agency awards. So if you are a principal, it is worthwhile entering and encouraging your staff to enter - so that our industry’s stars receive the recognition they deserve.”
Winners from most categories have the opportunity to advance to the Real Estate Institute of Australia’s annual National Awards for Excellence, with the winners to be announced at a gala dinner in Sydney on 22 March 2007.
